The Beyond Borders Dental Team

Is dental work too expensive for you? It doesn’t have to be. Beyond Borders Dental has been a reliable resource to thousands of dental patients, and we hope to help you as well!

You might have heard of dental tourism, and you’re curious about how it works and how much you can save. Or you might be planning a trip to Mexico for dental work, and you’re wondering what to expect. Whatever the case, traveling abroad for dental work can be a great option for anyone needing quality dental work at a much more affordable price.

Everything you need to know about getting your dental work in Mexico is explained in appropriate detail.

50 Things You Should Know About Getting Dental Work and Implants in Mexico

1. Is it safe to go to Mexico for dental work?

There is a lot of misinformation when it comes to the safety of Mexican dental tourism. However, tens of thousands of US patients have received high-quality dental work in Mexico, and if you know where to go, it is very safe. Of course, parts of Mexico are not recommended for tourists, but border towns and popular tourist cities are safe and cater to foreign dental patients. In addition, we closely monitor the locations where our approved dental offices operate. Therefore, you can be assured that Beyond Borders Dental only recommends safe offices and areas and frequently provide dental treatment to U.S. travelers.

2. Will I get quality dental implants from a highly-trained dentist in Mexico?

Well, maybe yes and maybe no, depending on where you go and who you see for your dental work. It is important to have a trusted source to refer you to dental offices with an extensive record of high-quality treatment. This is our most important commitment to our patients. Unfortunately, dental tourism has become so popular in the last two decades; many popup “dentists†are not qualified to practice dentistry. This can give dental work in Mexico an unfairly negative reputation. But this is not the norm. If you go to a licensed, experienced dentist, especially dentists that are vetted through our  4-step qualification process, you can receive high-quality work and save a lot of money.

3. Can I really save thousands of dollars in cost for dental implants in Mexico?

The national average cost for a dental crown in the US is $1,200 to $2000; in Mexico, it’s $250 to $600. A full set of traditional dentures can cost up to $5,000 in the U.S.—about $600 in Mexico. If you need major dental work, you can get affordable, high-quality dental work and highly likely save thousands of dollars going to dental offices in our program. On average, our patients save 50%-75% on dental work in our dental offices in Mexico. You can save $3,500 with a single tooth implant and crown alone. To learn more, click this link.

4. Are dental implants in Mexico affordable?

Prices can vary widely, but it is significantly more affordable than the same procedure in the U.S. But beware! In any country, including the U.S., comparing prices is important but be sure you understand what you’re paying for and what you are getting. Not all dentists use the same quality of dental materials, and not all doctors are equal. Regardless of what treatment or procedure you compare, be sure you’re comparing apples to apples. We can help you. Our blog, “Is the Lowest Price the Best Price a good starting point.â€

5. Can I get an estimate from your agency for dental implants in Mexico to compare with other quotes?

Absolutely, and we encourage our patients to do just that. The more information you collect and understand about your options, the easier it will be to make the best, most informed decision for you. The most important thing to remember is to compare apples to apples because there is much misleading advertising. Thousands of patients have trusted Beyond Borders Dental to find the best dental work at the most affordable price.  Remember, the lowest price may not be the best price. The best price is the lowest price for the highest quality work, and our offices meet that standard every day.

6. Do the Mexican dentists and staff speak English?

Yes, all our offices are staffed with fluent, English-speaking doctors and staff. In addition, our dental offices are in well-known dental tourism areas such as those that have easy access to the U.S./Mexican border or established tourist destinations and are providing dental work to American tourists who visit frequently.

7. Are dental offices professional and use the same hygienic and sterilization techniques as American dentists?

Yes, otherwise, why would Americans keep going to Mexico, right? We make our own site visits to the dental offices we recommend to assure our patients that the offices meet our exacting standards. We fully recognize that high standards of hygiene are imperative to ensure safe dental work.

The safety and health of our patients have always been a top priority for Beyond Borders Dental. That’s why we vetted our dental offices even before the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, our 4-Step Evaluation Process has consistently done the work you receive both safe and comfortable, as our many testimonials reflect.

8. Do Mexican offices use modern, high-tech equipment for dental implants?

Our vetted offices are well equipped with some of the latest diagnostic equipment, i.e., X-ray machines, 3D cone beam digital imaging, and sophisticated ZirkonZahn systems to produce perfect dental prostheses.

9. Do I need a passport to get dental treatment in Mexico?

Crossing into Mexico on a border-town, you don’t need to show any documents; however, crossing back from Mexico through a U.S. border, you will need proper documentation—a valid passport. Contrary to this law, since Americans have been crossing Mexico’s northern border for dental work, you can usually cross back into the U.S. with a valid driver’s license and a copy of your birth certificate. Talk with us about the required documents you’ll need, and we’ll guide you.

10. What about a visa; do I need one for Mexican dental treatments?

A passport is sufficient for border towns. If you travel to our dental office in Cozumel or Cancun, you definitely need a valid passport and a visa, which is handed out by flight attendants or upon arrival before clearing customs at the airport.

11. Is a dental implant a more painful procedure than a tooth extraction?

All surgical procedures involve a certain degree of pain, and a certain level of anesthesia is given during dental implant procedures. Patients generally experience a mild level of discomfort and complain of mild pain once the anesthesia wears off. The pain level also depends on whether it is a simple tooth implant or a bone graft procedure.

12. What about water filtration systems?

If you’re worried about getting sick from drinking the water in Mexico, you will be happy to know that our approved dental offices use water that is filtered through sophisticated treatment systems to keep it safe and potable.

13. Does the lower cost of dental implants in Mexico equate to lower quality?

No one wants to compromise on health care quality by taking a cheaper route, and you shouldn’t need to. In the U.S., some of us were raised to believe that higher costs equal higher quality. This is not the case with dental work in Mexico. Cost-cutting does not mean they’re using lower-quality ingredients. From porcelain crowns to metal posts and dentures, our approved dentists use the same materials in your mouth as you would if you received dental work in the U.S.

It’s simply that in a country like Mexico, the cost of living is significantly less compared with the United States and Canada, making it much more feasible for dentists to own and operate a practice. In addition, dentists in Mexico are not required to pay for malpractice insurance. Mexican dentists also carry less student loan debt than U.S. dentists due to government subsidies. They repay these subsidies with one year of free service after school. I hope this explains the lower cost without any suspicion.

14. Is it common to travel to Mexico for dental tourism?

Tens of thousands of people travel to Mexico (and other foreign countries) for dental work every year. This is because you can save thousands on affordable dentistry, and it is easier to get appointments with Mexican dentists. Another reason why people come to Mexico is that they can get dental treatment done faster, and better yet, get a vacation out of it.

15. Is it easy to access dental work in Mexico?

Some of the most popular locations for dental tourism in Mexico, Thailand, Costa Rica, and India. Of these, Mexico is by far the closest and most convenient option for Americans. It is the cheapest to travel to and the closest location. You can take a flight or even drive across the border and save up on airfare if you live close to the border. In addition, there are several of our offices in the border towns of Mexico.

16. What are some benefits of using a referral service for dental treatment in Mexico?

Before you book an appointment, it’s important to either go through a reputable dental referral agency or do thorough research on your own. An independent referral agency such as Beyond Borders Dental has no allegiance to anyone but you. Referral agencies should have already done due diligence before sending patients abroad for dental or medical work. They also can answer questions, give you general advice/recommendations, and are your point of contact should you need help. We advocate on your behalf and make sure everything is going as planned, and our referral services are always free to you.

17. How are you paid for your referral services?

We get asked this question all the time. We are compensated directly by the dental offices. The dental offices that work with us benefit by having us refer patients and saving them a lot of time by screening each patient and answering questions. If a patient decides to use our offices, we oversee every step to ensure everything goes smoothly.

18. Is getting dental implants in Mexico as pain-free (as dentistry can be)?

Most dentists in Mexico offer anesthesia options like in the U.S., including full sedation. In addition, our dental offices have trained anesthesiologists on staff. The procedure is not painful because it is performed under local or general anesthesia, and after the numbness wears off after the procedure, patients report mild pain levels.

19. Do Mexican dentists use the same materials as U.S. dentists?

From porcelain crowns to metal posts and dentures, our approved dentists use the same materials in your mouth as you would if you received dental work in the U.S.

20. What if I need more than one specialist?

Our offices have dentists trained in all industry specialty fields and are equipped with all the necessary diagnostic equipment. If you need more than one specialist, they will be in the same office, so everything is done in one place. In rare cases where a specialist is not in the office but is needed, they will bring them to their office.

21. Can I get the same dental procedures in Mexico?

If you’re traveling abroad for dental work, it’s important to know that you can get all the same dental treatment options in Mexico as you can in the U.S.

22. Why is Mexico such a popular destination for dental tourism among seniors?

Seniors often live on a fixed income and delay much-needed dental treatment due to high costs. This is why many seniors choose Mexico as their destination for taking care of their teeth as they age. With savings of up to 75% on major dental procedures like dental crowns, implants, and root canals, Mexico is a great option for most seniors. Our testimonials confirm the satisfaction of our many patients who have traveled to Mexico for dental treatment.

23. Can I get cosmetic dental procedures in Mexico?

Absolutely. The doctors who do veneers, whitening, and bonding are specially trained and certified in cosmetic procedures. So you typically can save quite a lot of money on these procedures as well.

24. Are other dental specialists available in Mexico?

If you need an Orthodontist, Endodontist, or Implantologist, you can schedule an appointment with them in the same visit, in the same office. For example, in one of our dental offices, there are 30 trained, full-time dentists practicing in all modalities of dentistry.

25. As an American, will I be treated well in Mexican dental offices?

As a dental tourist, you will be treated with the highest level of respect and work. Several thousand Americans visit Mexico each year for dental tourism, so this is quite a norm. You are the lifeblood of some Mexican cities’ livelihood.

26. Do dental services in Mexico come with a guarantee?

Our vetted-approved dentists guarantee their treatment and services for up to four years. If something is not right, you can go back and have it corrected at no additional cost. However, this is not an option at every Mexican dental office, but we put you first, and so this is something we promise you.

27. Should I take cash with me when traveling to Mexico for dental work?

It’s always a good idea to have some cash when you’re traveling. Typically, you pay cash or credit card for services rendered during an appointment, but you’ll still want cash for incidentals throughout your time in Mexico. Most tourist destinations and areas that see many Americans take credit cards and often U.S. dollars as well. We don’t suggest carrying a large sum of cash.

28. Can I get medications in Mexico after my dental work?

Many Americans fill non-narcotic prescriptions in Mexico. And if your dentist prescribes pain medications or other prescriptions, you can visit a Mexican pharmacy and fill your prescription at a reduced rate before you head home. Savings can be substantial.

29. How many trips to Mexico will I need for my dental work?

If you need extensive dental work, you might need to come back for a couple of visits. Still, in many cases, the cost will be much lower than if you paid for the same work in the U.S. Once we have discussed your proposed treatment plan with you, we can advise you on the travel requirements.

30. How will I find my way around once I arrive in Mexico?

Local transportation is complimentary for patients. We will offer you a list of hotels our patients use, and transportation to and from your hotel to the dental office is also complementary. We oversee every detail to make your trip easy, safe, and comfortable. That’s what we do and why so many people have trusted Beyond Borders Dental.

31. What about travel insurance?

Since dental tourism often includes flights and hotels, it’s a good idea to be prepared with travel insurance.

32. Can I make a vacation out of my dental tourism to Mexico?

If you’re going to be a “dental tourist,†you might as well enjoy the “tourist†part. So whether you lounge on the beach in Cozumel or take a weekend trip to Mexico, you’ll get to enjoy the festive Mexican culture, food, and people.

33. Will my dental insurance cover my treatment in Mexico?

In some cases, yes. Just be sure to check with your insurance provider before you travel and bring copies of any forms they require filled out for you to make a claim. We can advise you on this too. Or your dental insurance company might reimburse you. But, again, call your agent to see if this is an option.

34. Is it easier to drive or fly to Mexico?

If you live in Texas, New Mexico, or Arizona, you can easily drive to El Paso, Texas, and park. The Juárez dental office drivers to get you to/from El Paso to the office at no charge. If you want to go to Cancun, there are direct flights from many U.S. cities. Once you arrive in Cancun, the dental office representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel; all local transportation to/from your hotel and to/from your dental appointments are complimentary.

You don’t have to plan it. However, if you work with a dental referral company, part of their services should include helping you arrange everything.

35. Can I get a price estimate before I go to Mexico for dental work?

Beyond Borders Dental can help you get a free price quote. Keep in mind that our dentists use various sources of information. They use dental X-rays and 3-D cone beam CT scans, consider the patient’s desired outcome, and most importantly, base their final decision after an in-office examination. This is very important because so much information is collected during a physical examination, including examining each patient’s facial structure. Most price quotes we give our patients are within 10 to 15% accuracy, but the in-person examination will determine the best course of treatment.

36. So, are Americans happy with their dental treatment in Mexico?

According to a report commissioned by Families U.S.A., a Washington advocacy group for health-work issues, “About 90 percent [feel] the dental work they had received in Mexico had been good or excellent.†Our own internal review shows our clients are happy at an even higher rate. This exceeds satisfaction with U.S. dentists. Click this link to read the full report.

37. Why is it so affordable to get quality dental treatment/ dental implants in Mexico?

This is explained above (salary scale there, cost of living, rents, staff costs). Further, dental school is subsidized by the government in Mexico. This contributes to lower costs and dentists who could really focus on their schooling (instead of working multiple jobs and taking classes at the same time). On the other hand, the typical U.S. dentist leaves school with over $200,000 in loans in many cases. Guess how he is going to pay those loans back?

38. What is included in your referral services?

We’re here to help you find the best dental office for your personal needs, oversee the entire process of getting dental work in Mexico. Local transfers to/from airports and dental appointments are always complimentary.

39. What if I can’t afford the procedure I want?

In some cases, more than one option is possible, or the procedure can be spread over a longer period to give you more time to save the money you need. Another option is to consider a personal loan or try our lending affiliate to see if they can help you. But, ultimately, you must decide for yourself what the best course of action is. We’re here to help you research and collect accurate information so you can make an informed decision. We’re here to help educate and guide you—and there’s never a fee for our referral services; the dental offices compensate us directly.

40. How important is it to vet your dentist or dental referral agency?

The value of a reputable dental referral agency is crucial—this cannot be said enough. First, make sure you are going to a trained, reputable dentist. Then, read reviews and do thorough research. A reputable dental referral agency is happy to show you their patient testimonials. Beyond Borders Dental makes actual site visits to all dental offices in our program. We conduct interviews with the doctors and staff, review their credentials, tour the facility, observe sterilization procedures, and inspect their dental supplies.  Most importantly, we monitor the satisfaction of our patients to assure the offices we recommend meet our stringent standards.

41. What is the cost of a single tooth implant in Mexico?

We encourage you to do independent research about Beyond Borders Dental and dental offices in our program. When we answer questions or offer advice, we can also provide you with our resources to check that what we tell you is accurate. We’re not a corporate company sending patients to thousands of unvetted dental offices everywhere—we’re an independent referral agency for a minimal selection of dental offices we trust. We help screen patients, answer questions, and guide them through the entire process from A to Z to get personalized, accurate information. And, we also personally use the same dental offices for our own treatment!

43. How do dental offices in your program compare to dental offices in the U.S.?

The Mexican dental offices we work with are modern and clean. While they may sometimes be appointed more modestly than American dental offices, most of our patients are pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, quality, and comfort they see in our dental offices in Mexico.

44. Who does the actual dental procedures in your offices?

In the U.S., dental assistants often do most of the procedures, and the dentist only does the final touches or more advanced procedures. However, in our dental offices in Mexico, all the procedures are done by trained, experienced dentists.

45. What do I need to do to get started with Beyond Borders Dental?

The first thing you need to do is provide us with some basic contact information to get you in our system; click this link to send us your inquiry, and we’ll get back to you via email, usually within 24 hours. If you have a dental plan, X-rays, or a Cone Beam CT scan, we will provide you with an email to send these. Then your case will be forwarded to one of the offices in our program for an initial assessment by a doctor. Then we will email an estimated cost for your dental needs, and if you like, you can speak with one of our patient care coordinators about your individual case. You’ll then have a ball-park figure of costs, so you make more price comparisons if you like. For more extensive dental work, we can often arrange a TeleDentistry conference consult with your dentist.

46. How affordable is a full-mouth dental implant in Mexico?

In Mexico, you can cut down on the cost of a single tooth implant, so imagine the savings on a full-mouth dental implant. But cheaper implants can also compromise quality, which is unacceptable for Beyond Dental Borders, and we strive to ensure that our offices provide affordable and safe procedures. To read more about the affordability and pricing comparisons, click this link.

47. How do I decide which location in Mexico to choose?

There are pros and cons to different locations, but the quality of dental care is equally comparable. If you live close to a border town in the southern states or just don’t want to travel internationally, our office in Juárez is a great option. On the other hand, if you’re looking to add a tropical vacation to your travel plans, then our dental office in Cozumel is perfect. We can help you with this decision.

48. Can I get additional medical or cosmetic services in Mexico?

If you’re considering taking advantage of other medical services, talk with us. We have already started doing our due diligence to expand our services to include non-invasive cosmetic procedures and common plastic surgeries.

49. Can I bring a friend or family member to my dental appointment?

If you’re nervous about traveling abroad for dental care or just want to be accompanied, we encourage you to bring a friend or family member. Before the COVID pandemic bringing someone with you to the office was never an issue; however, for the protection and safety of everyone, our dental offices have COVID guidelines and protocols in place. Therefore, on a case-by-case basis, they will allow a friend or family member to be in the office with you, but please talk with them in advance so they can take protective measures to protect everyone.

50. I’m extremely nervous about getting the COVID virus. What are your offices in Mexico doing to protect their patients?

This is a question we get asked all the time, and for a good reason—nobody wants to contract this virus, especially when traveling in foreign countries. We try to address these concerns through monitoring the situation globally and keep our patients updated on our website; click this link. The good news is as of September 2020, none of our patients, doctors, or staff have contracted the COVID virus and continue to take it seriously.

You can now consider yourself an expert on dental tourism! If you’d like to learn more about dental tourism or get a free assessment through Beyond Borders Dental, just click this link to get started.

  1. I need 18 teeth removed and upper and lower all on 4 implants prefer a Dental location on El Paso border if possible is closer to my home.I would like the same day immediate implants without return visit if possible. along with pricing thank you

    • Hello Sylvia, Thank you for your questions. Everyone is different and has different dental needs. Our doctors would need to do a comprehensive office evaluation to fully assess your case to first determine if you’re a good candidate for All-on-4 permanent dentures. One of our best Implantologists is located in Juarez so it would be easy for you to access from the El Paso border. Once you’ve had an evaluation, we can give you more definitive prices. The only thing we can not do is give you immediate implants without follow-up appointments. If any dentist promises you 1-day implants, something is seriously wrong! If you’d like to speak with one of our knowledgeable Patient Care Administrators, please complete this short form, Request a Quote and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you!

  2. Hi. My name is Andrew. I am in need of help with gaps in my mouth where teeth are missing and would like to come over to Mexico with my partner who has a similar problem.
My question is how long would we have to stay in Mexico for to complete the treatment? Many thanks.

    • Hi Andrew, to answer your questions we need additional information, including pictures of your teeth. If you’d like a no-cost, no-obligation estimate from one of our doctors please complete this short form, Request a Quote and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you!

  3. Hello sir, I am feeling a bit confused and upset with the manner in which my Tijuana Dental Implantologist fails to communicate and non response to emails. Especially since I have a major investment of over $10,500 paid for partial work performed. Might you have some helpful advice for managing a equally satisfying experience here to resolve the issues or even Resources to contact like a Mexican Dental Association, Attorney, or ?? Being an International issue, is my credit card company effective for issues when a possibly fraud or other discrepit big business is trying to rip off seniors citizens from America?? Thanks much for your help and advice. Kindly, Mr Kevin.
Ph: 760-453-3027 feel free call anytime.

    • That’s a great question, Donna. I can only speak for the dental offices in our vetted programs because they all have similar aftercare protocols for implants, all-on-4s, and snap-in dentures. Depending on the manufacturer’s warranty and the doctor’s, patients are required to follow the recommended aftercare procedures. It’s unnecessary to return to Mexico where you had the procedure as long as you can provide the dental office where you had the follow-up aftercare as prescribed by your U.S. dentist. Also, it’s important to mention that maintaining your overall physical health is important for the long-term success of any procedure.

  4. Hello Beyond Borders Team,
I am wondering if it is recommended to have teeth extractions done ‘at home’ before and well ahead of time for continuing with the implant procedure in Mexico? Or, is it common practice there to place implants immediately following a tooth being pulled? Is it the same day? Thanks Barbara

    • We get this question a lot, Barbara and there’s not one answer for all cases. Depending on the individual case, if the bone density is good, an experienced Implantologist can remove a tooth and place an implant at the same time, using bone graft material to fill in the space where the tooth was extracted. Our doctors rely on CT scans to evaluate a case and determine their options. CT scans show much more details, including bone density, nerves and soft tissue surrounding teeth.

  5. My insurance here in Colorado will pay for dentures but they will not pay for anchor teeth can I go to Mexico and turn these dentures into anchor teeth

    • It may be possible that our doctors can turn your dentures into anchor teeth but they would need more information on your individual case. Our dental offices in Mexico are sophisticated enough to do any procedures in the dental field and are trained in their specialties.

  6. My two front teeth are wiggling and my dentist here is saying that she has to extract them, add bone, then give me temporary replacement until the bone heals then give me permanent implants. I just want my teeth replaced quickly and with high quality. Can you do a consultation?

    • It sounds like not having teeth missing for a long period is a major concern for you and we get that; however, without an in-office examination by a doctor, we can only speculate on your options. Based on some of our past patients with similar circumstances, if they prefer a permanent solution, i.e., implants, the doctors will place a temporary at the extraction site during the healing period. Another possible option would be to place a bridge with two prosthetic teeth using your natural teeth as anchors. Bridges are less expensive, and a faster solution but the downside is the load is shifted to your natural teeth and may cause them to become loose sooner than they would naturally.

  7. I take Coumadin to control a genetic blood clotting disorder. I need 4 dental implants. My physician has told me that for any oral surgery I would need to hold the Coumadin for five days, then take Lovanox right after the surgery until my INR level is good again.
Would it be feasible and safe for me to get the implants at one of your Mexico clinics?

    • This is a great question, Maureen, and an important one. All our patients who go to our vetted dental offices in Mexico are medically screened by the doctor, especially for invasive procedures. Patients must complete medical history forms and be transparent about current medications and conditions. If a patient is expected to have an invasive procedure such as oral surgery, they must provide our doctors with a letter from their primary care doctor or specialist, signed by them. There are emergency hospitals near our dental offices as well.

  8. How much does it cost for a full set of implants (upper and Lower)? Do y’all have a dentist in El Paso or near Del Rio Texas.

    • As you can imagine, every individual is different; the same is true regarding dental procedures. In the U.S., you can expect to spend around $25,000 per arch on average for the All-on-4 procedure. It can be as little as $12,000 or as much as $50,000 or higher. The higher cost may come from additional factors going into the procedure such as bone grafting to strengthen the jawbone. Prices can also vary by the region of the country you live in, the local market competition, and the quality of the materials used. If you go to one of our vetted dental offices in Mexico you can save 50% or more on high-quality, internationally recognized implant brands, and they guarantee their work. All the doctors in our dental offices who place implants are trained and internationally certified in implantology.

  9. Greetings,
So, I am under the impression that to get implants, you get the checkup/procedure, get “temp teeth”, and then about 6 months you will have to fly back to get the “real” teeth. Is this impression correct? (Just trying to figure out if I need to budget for one or two trips)

    • Hello,

Thank you for your question on dental implants. For sure you need to plan on two, possibly three visits for implants, with a minimum waiting period of four to six months for the implants to solidify in your jaw bone. Patients are usually given temporary teeth after the implants are placed. Every case is different so it’s important to keep in mind your treatment may vary.

      I hope this is helpful.

  10. I have international insurance and need a porclein front tooth and a root canal done on one tooth ..with they take international insurance ..

    • Hi Johnny,

That’s a great question, and the answer is that our patient care coordinators help patients fill out their dental insurance claim forms to be reimbursed. However, it is the responsibility of the patient to contact their insurance provider directly and obtain the necessary claim forms.

  11. Is there any agency to manage traveling and staying in Mexico for an extended dental work. Maybe a Month or so. Familiar with the details, prices etc.
    Thank you
    Michael Ott

    • Hi Michael,

That’s what Beyond Borders Dental does, assist our patients with travel arrangements. You’re responsible to arrange your flights and we recommend hotels and Airbnb’s.

If you would like to talk with us, please call our office at (505) 738-7770 or send us an email at [email protected].

  12. How long does a full reconstruction usually last. And can I get my check up done back in the states ?

    • Hi Robert,

This is a great question! If a patient is a good candidate for any implant procedure, including full-mouth restoration and it is done correctly by a trained, experienced Implantologist, it should last a life time. Patients also should be in good general health and avoid tobacco substances. Moreover, we recommend if you have this procedure done in Mexico to finish it with the same doctor so you don’t void the warranty.

    • Hi James,

Thank you for contacting us. We’re here to help you find the best dental clinic for your personal needs, oversee the entire process of getting dental care in Mexico, and if needed, we’re your advocate — and our services are always free to our patients.

We don’t have a vetted dental clinic in Cancun, however, we provide complimentary transportation from Cancun to Cozumel for our dental patients Cozumel is less congested and quiet. The drive is about two hours each way. For those looking for more solitude, Cozumel is a great option. If Cozumel interests you, please let us know.

  13. I am a single male senior, I am in need of extensive dental treatment. I have hearing problems and traveling alone is a frightening thought. Do you have companions
that could accompany me all the time I am in Mexico?

    • Hi Dino,

Travelling abroad can be a scary experience for anyone and we understand your fears. To help alleviate these fears, all our patients are met and escorted by one of staff from the dental clinic. Additionally, their drivers pick you up in the clinic car and transport you to/from the dental clinic. This ensures you’re never alone or have to drive in Mexico.

I hope this helps and eases your fear of going to Mexico for dental care.

  14. With the Covid 19 restrictions now in place is daily travel for dental work still being allowed or are the borders completely closed now?

    • Hi Neal,

There are misconceptions about the ability to travel to Mexico. Essential travel is allowed and hasn’t been interrupted, even since the COVID Virus pandemic started. Medical and dental care is considered essential travel so our dental clinics are taking patients, however, under the current conditions, we’re recommended patients to visit our dentists in Mexico for essential dental treatment only. For a complete, updated review of all we are doing regarding the Covid-19, please click this link.

If you have more questions or would like to talk with us, please call our office at (505) 738-7770 or send us an email at [email protected].

    • Hi Richard,

We can not offer diagnosis, treatment recommendations or costs on website. Only a trained doctor can evaluate patients. The other thing we are not able to help you with is recommending a dental clinic in Nogales. We only refer patients to dental clinics in our programs that have been approved through our 4-step vetting process. The nearest clinic we can refer your friend to is in Juarez, Mexico.

If you have more questions or would like to talk with us, please call our office at (505) 738-7770 or send us an email at [email protected].

  17. I live in Dallas, TX. I know I need 1 implant and a couple of root canals and crowns. I am also interested in veneers for my front top/bottom teeth along with fillings for some cavities. I am concerned because I have Type1 Diabetes so I would want a family member with me during the procedure and also are the dentist trained for patients with medical issues?

    • Hi Jose,

Our dental clinics require patients to fill out medical forms before having any treatment. Based on your medical history, our doctors are qualified and experienced to safely do dental procedures. In some cases, a letter from your physician may be required. A family member can be present with you during the procedure with advance approval from the doctor.

  18. I am in Austin Texas and looking for a good dentist as close as possible for two people

    • If you live in Texas the closest dental clinic, vetted and in our program, is located in Juarez, Mexico on the border of Texas. You need to get to El Paso and their drivers provide transfers to/from the clinic, at no additional costs. This way you don’t have to worry about traveling alone in Juarez.

  19. We are coming from Houston, TX to visit and explore dentistry services in Mexico near the border. What is the best way to connect a single source to find few dentists to choose from.

    • Thank you, Irfan, for sending us your question. We have a dental clinic on the border of El Paso and Juarez that has thirty full-time dentists trained in every speciality and has all the latest equipment in their office. We refer 90% of our clients to this clinic with great success. If you would like to speak with someone about this clinic please let us know and we will be happy to put you in touch with the patient care coordinator.

  20. I am interested in having 4 veneers removed and replaced and teeth whitening. How much would that cost and how long?

    • Hi Stephanie,

Without an examination by one of our dentists, it would be very difficult to give you a price estimate on your request. In most cases where veneers are placed the natural tooth has to be prepped, remove some of the tooth surfaces. It may not be feasible for you to have the veneers removed and whitened. If you would like to get a better understanding of your options and a price estimate, please submit your contact details to us, click here, and if you have a dental treatment plan and X-rays, email those too. Then we will forward your case details to our Patient Care Coordinator who will give you a no-cost phone consultation to discuss your case. She also can give more information on treatment options, approximate prices and can answer other questions you may have.

  21. Can I have veneers removed as they are too old and would want implants is that possible. The veneers were too big made me look like I had buck teeth

    • Hi Margie, good question. Our dentists are very skilled and can do just about any treatment, however, they would need more information on your individual case before they could make an assessment and/or recommendation.

  22. HELLO I’M INTERESTED IN GETTING DENTAL WORK DONE VENEERS AS OPPOSE TO LUMINEERS WHAT WOULD BE THE PRICE TO HAVE SIX LOWER FRONT TEETH DONE…………

    • When it comes to cosmetic procedures such as veneers, there are a couple of possibilities. One less expensive option is using a composite bonding material, our dentist can correct minor imperfections on the surface of teeth and the results can be excellent. This procedure costs $150 per tooth and requires only one visit. Full cosmetic veneers (porcelain material) similar to the US treatment, it requires two visits and costs $440 per tooth.

    • Excellent question Jane, if you are traveling from outside New Mexico or Texas, we highly recommend you book an appointment at least two weeks in advance, and this also depends on your case. We have a comprehensive checklist we use to help our patients with their travel plans. Without knowing your individual case this is the best answer I can give you at this time. If you would like more information on to plan for getting dental treatment in Mexico please contact us at [email protected] or call (505) 738-7770, Monday through Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (Mountain Time).

  24. My husband needs full mouth implants. I need 5 molars and two other broken teeth replaced and veneers can you give a rough estimate. All extractions will be done one month before we go.

    • Hi Ramona,

Everybody’s dental care is unique to his or her individual case so it’s not possible to determine prices for all treatments. Moreover, our dentists need X-rays and history to determine their options, many times more than one option is possible, and to determine actual costs.

That said, what we provide is a price comparison chart for general procedures and some examples of our past client’s savings on our home page to give people estimated prices for the most requested procedures.

If you would like us to send you an estimated price quote for you and your husband’s cases, please complete and submit our information form. Go to our home page and in the upper right corner is an orange button that has (More Info) on it. Click on this button.

Please let us know how more we can help you. We believe we can help you get quality, affordable dental care, and save you money.

  25. I am Canadian wanting to get Vaneers and Teeth Whitening done. What are the cost?

    • Hi Monique,

Following are estimated prices for dental care/procedures you may need. Note that the actual costs may vary depending on your personal needs; however, if you can send us a dental treatment plan from your US dentist including X-rays, we can give you a more accurate price quotation. It is important to have an evaluation of what is going on so you can make an informed decision about your dental care options.

Concerning cosmetic work such as veneers, there are a couple of possibilities. One less expensive option is using a composite bonding material, our dentist can correct minor imperfections on the surface of teeth and the results can be excellent. Note: Full cosmetic veneers (porcelain material) similar to the US treatment, it requires two visits and costs $440 per tooth. The cost for teeth whitening is $260 *Zoom whitening.

      • I guess you didn’t read Monique well. She’s Canadian, and so am I. We’re looking for dental treatment, departure from Canada.
In my case it’s a crown and a surgery.

        • Hi Maurício;

Thank you for your message. We receive hundreds of inquiries weekly and answer each one, however, without your full name or email, it’s not possible to personally respond. For personal questions such as your we need additional information. Please use our Price Quote form. There is an additional comments section on this form if you need and we will get back to you within 48 hours. Thank you!

        • Hi Robin,

Prices vary from place to place. Other factors that may affect the cost includes what type of material is used to make the veneer, (zirconia, porcelain or resin-based), the expertise of the dentist and how many veneers you get at one time. In all fairness, when doing price comparisons for any product or service, be sure to get all the information for a comparison.

If you have more questions please contact us at [email protected] or call (505) 738-7770.
